Coyote Sightings Up This Time of Year
PARADISE VALLEY, AZ - Coyotes are out looking for water and food. What you should do if you spot one?
Wes Patrick has been trapping coyotes for almost 20 years. He uses “love potion” to lure them in. This is the time of year where we start seeing more coyotes especially in the morning and early evening.
“I’ve caught more coyotes in Paradise Valley than the whole rest of the valley put together,” says Wes Patrick of Critter Control.
Today, he's already had one call from the Biltmore area. The coyotes are out looking for water and food.
“There’s rabbit, there’s quail, there’s cats, they love cats,” says Patrick.
Homeowners associations will pay Patrick to come trap the coyote and get it out of their neighborhood. If you ever find yourself face to face with one, never run. Walk away slowly.
“Main thing keep your eye on it… I’d say be very careful and if I was out walking in an area where I thought there was coyotes I’d bring a golf club or stick or something.”
Critter Control says they rarely attack humans, but you should always be extra careful if you do come into contact with one -- especially if you have a dog with you.
